Whether you are looking for a bit more shine and style under the bonnet, or you’re chasing performance gains via less rotating engine mass, aluminium alternator pulley is a great choice.
Our pulley (62 g) is significantly lighter than a stamped steel OEM one (150 g), meaning you help the engine turn a bit more easily due to lower rotating mass. And having to move less leads to better throttle response and quicker engine rev-up or deceleration on throttle release.
The pulley is the same size as the original one, both in outer diameter (59 mm on the edge, 5 mm on the ribs) and the shaft mounting hole (17 mm) so you can swap them without any other mods. Your alternator speed (charging) will stay the same as with the stock pulley.
Fits alternators with 17 mm diameter mounting shaft:
– NA (Mk1) 1.8 with ribbed alternator belt
– MX-5 NB (Mk2) and NBFL (Mk2.5) with ribbed alternator belt
