An anti-roll bar (roll bar, anti-sway bar, sway bar, stabilizer bar) is a part of many automotive suspensions that helps reduce the body roll of a vehicle during fast cornering or over road irregularities. It connects opposite (left/right) wheels together through short lever arms linked by a torsion spring. By replacing them with polyurethane ones you can improve the body roll and cornering. Stiffer polyurethane bushings also improve the feel of the road during fast curves.
Polyurethane bushings last over twice as long, are less prone to tears or damage by oil, salts, acids, solvents and grime and they withstand higher temperatures. They have higher load-bearing capacity thus causing less play in connection points while maintaining needed flexibility. Compared to OEM bushings they are also easier to assemble (no press needed).
We offer a choice of two bushing hardness ratings. The red Performance Street bushings (80 ShA) are similar in hardness to OEM style rubber bushings but are much more durable. This is a good compromise, if you want to keep most of the comfort while improving the shifting feel and throttle response of your MX-5. The yellow Race Track bushings (90 ShA) are harder than the Performance Street version and offer even more precision which makes them ideal for track focused cars.
